And I literally mean it doesn't _seem_ to work, not that it _doesn't_ work:
Previous booster expired some time last night. As it happens, I had switched my passive SP to my alt, I ~think~ before the booster expired, but I wasn't really watching the time, so I'm not sure.
This afternoon, I put the passive back on my main, and logged in. Bought a new booster, and applied it. The rate of SP accrual did not seem to change, so I went and double-checked that I had _actually_ applied the booster. I had, it was there merrily counting down its week of use. Went back to the skills page, and timed it. 100SP in 6 minutes.
Then I restarted Dust. I had left my stopwatch running, and had noted the SP total in relation to some time on that, so I had that figure at hand. When I got back in, my total SP had appeared to jump up but just about the appropriate amount for the time the booster had been running.
Not sure if playing a match and then going to look when back in MQ after would show you the bugged numbers or the correct ones. Also have no idea what other circumstances might have affected this, or if it's a universal problem with the client.

TL;DR: So, yeah.
It SEEMS like it doesn't work when you apply a new passive booster, but I think it's just the client's display of it. The underlying numbers server-side seem to be okay. Restarting the client puts all aright.

Thanks for the advice, bro, but I don't need to open a ticket with support for this. It's working fine for me, and if I had any problems of the sort you mention. Certainly didn't _notice_ any problems with it. When I moved the passive from A to B, I think the booster was still active. B got his passive at what looked (didn't time it or anything) like the correct rate. Did not check to see if A was still getting that 1/3 rate from just the booster that I'd seen mentioned around here, somewhere.
I was just trying to share an observation, in hopes of helping dudes out. You know how it is, Kal. It becomes apparent after the briefest reading of this forum that many, if not most of the players of this game, were they to buy and use a passive booster and see it not working, would fly right off the handle, posting rants, threats, and insults. Maybe some will actually search first, see this, and try just resetting, and calm down. (Heh. I'm sure you think that the most abject, foolish wishful thinking. I mean, look who I'm talking to. I've got, like, the king of "hey numbnuts, try searching" here! Respect.) And you never know, CCP might even take a peek in here and add it to the appropriate team's minor-bug list.
Oh, and hey, man, you keep bein' you, okay? Myself, I usually try (not that I always succeed) to remain polite, even in the face of outright douchebaggery from players that one can only assume are in their early teens, but that does not mean I do not appreciate the particular touch you seem to have with posting responses to threads where the OP obviously didn't look around at all or read anything about some known issue or other. It's often a sign of read-worthiness to see your screen name as a poster in a thread. Or maybe I just appreciate pithiness. |
